  23. INSTALLING QUIKMENU 4 WINDOWS
  24. -----------------------------

  26. Before you can begin using QuikMenu 4 Windows you must run the
  27. QuikMenu Setup program from Windows. In most cases you cannot
  28. simply copy the software onto your hard drive. The files on the
  29. NeoSoft distribution disks are stored in a special compressed form
  30. to save space. The Setup program is the only way to insure that
  31. QuikMenu is properly unpacked and installed. Before installing
  32. QuikMenu on a NETWORK, please read the Network Considerations
  33. topic in the README.DOC file. To install QuikMenu, follow the
  34. steps below:
  35.  
  36.     NOTE: Depending on where you obtained your copy of this
  37.     program, you may not need to run Setup - so don't panic if
  38.     you can't find it. If you have a file named QMWIN.EXE, you
  39.     have most of the program (except icons and utilities). Just
  40.     copy that file to your hard drive in a directory of your
  41.     choice and launch it from the Windows Program Manager, File
  42.     Manager or Windows 95 Explorer.
  43.  
  44. 1.  Start Windows.
  45.  
  46. 2.  If you received QuikMenu on diskette, place it into the floppy
  47.     drive now. If you downloaded QuikMenu in archived format, use
  48.     PKUNZIP to uncompress the files to a working directory on your
  49.     hard disk.
  50.  
  51. 3.  Activate the Windows Program Manager.
  52.  
  53. 4.  Select the "Run" option can be selected from Windows 95 or NT's
  54.     "Start" menu.
  55.  
  56. 5.  In the "Command Line" field enter one of the following:
  57.  
  58.       -  If you placed the QuikMenu diskette into drive A:, type:
  59.          A:\SETUP
  60.  
  61.       -  If you placed the QuikMenu diskette into drive B:, type:
  62.          B:\SETUP
  63.  
  64.       -  If you downloaded QuikMenu type: C:\DIRNAME\SETUP (Remember
  65.          to replace DIRNAME with the name of the directory where you
  66.          uncompressed QuikMenu's files.)

  68. 6.  Follow the instructions on the screen.
